About the event
Here is the outline of the Newborn Sleep Workshop, which is usually helpful for prenatal families and those who have just had their babies:
The main goal during the workshop is to normalize biologically typical newborn sleep and explain what it actually looks like, along with setting realistic expectations (debunking some common myths). Due to the different information on social media, some families have unrealistic expectations, such as expecting long sleep stretches or sleeping through the night for newborns or worrying they might spoil their baby.
During the newborn workshop, I mainly cover:
• Sleep science and newborn sleep cycles (Active and Quiet sleep, with video demos), hormones, circadian rhythm, and sleep pressure.
• Sleepy cues, wake windows, and realistic sleep expectations.
• Developmental progressions, including growth spurts.
